Kevin and Lucy’s Bat

 For our robotic bat project, we decided to make a robotic bat. On the mechanics side, we decided to build our robot around the EV3 brick. Our robot uses 3 motors total, 2 for the wheels and a 3rd to allow the head to articulate side to side. Jutting out on either side of our robot are two wings which use two sliding rods to make the wings contract and extend as the wheels turn. Fitting in with our bat theme, we used an ultrasonic sensor to allow our robot to detect nearby objects as it turned in a circle, and then made the robot approach it once it found it. We also used a touch sensor which would just make the robot shake its head in response to being touched. We completed the robot with some black paper in order to make it look more like a bat.
