For our third project we built a tool that can be used to route a cable through some wires and then twist the wires above it to secure the cable. During design, we focused a lot on ergonomics, making sure that the structure is comfortable to hold, stable and as efficient as possible. We tested several different pieces to see which of them had a better clasp of the wires and we finally chose the big gear because it has a lot of holes in which the wires can get stuck in and be twisted.

There is also a mechanism right under the gear that controls the cable. Once the cable is passed through it, it automatically makes sure that the cable is right where you need it to be while you are twisting the wires.

The touch sensor is right under the brick and just in front of the handle which makes it very easy to access.

The programming was pretty simple. It is an infinite while-loop, it waits for button to be pressed and turns on the motor and starts waiting for release. As soon as button is released it stops motors and starts waiting for button press again and so on.
