Dodge ball by Chris, Justin, Nick, and Handy

Our group started off with the idea of creating a form of the game “Brick Breakers”, in which a ball bounces off of a platform and goes upward, breaking bricks on its route. The final product, however, resulted in a similar game with bouncing balls, but instead of aiming to contact the ball with the platform, the player must dodge the balls. Since our game is multiplayer, the bouncing balls will travel up and down the screen, with one player on each side working as a team to dodge the balls. If a ball comes into contact with  a platform of either player, the ball will disappear and the game will end once all of the balls have disappeared.

To start off we took two images from the internet to represent the background of the game and the platform. We then combined two code schematics together, that of the design of the game (includes the platform and background) and that which controls the images and their responses. The platforms are controlled by our built-in controllers which are accessible to two players. We decided to add these controllers to the EV3 to avoid and issues with cable length and entanglement. The controllers are composed of two motors each with a gear in between two add a sense of weight to the motion, adding difficulty to our game while maintaining stability.

In conclusion, our game is designed to be both multiplayer and difficult to create an environment of teamwork between the two participating players.
